Graduation ceremonies for Clarke Central and Cedar Shoals will be held at those high schools’ respective football stadiums because UGA’s Stegeman Coliseum is closed for repairs, the Clarke County School District announced Friday.

Cedar Shoals’ ceremony will now be held Thursday, May 25, with Clarke Central’s the following day, both at 8:30 a.m. The Classic City High School ceremony remains scheduled for 5 p.m. May 25 at CCSD’s Prince Avenue central office.

The 60-year-old coliseum was closed last month after a chunk fell from the ceiling. Inspection and repairs are expected to take several months, according to the AJC.

Convocations for some UGA schools and colleges were also scheduled to be held at Stegeman in May, but the university has not announced plans to reschedule them.
