Though summer break is upon us, there’s no rest for the nutrition department of the Clarke County School District. Employees are feeding lunch to children participating in the county’s many Leisure Services summer camps, and those attending day camps run by the Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA and the YWCO through July 15.

Children in Athens Clarke County who are in summer school are receiving CCSD lunch until the summer session ends on June 30.

Children under 18 who aren’t in camp or summer school may also eat lunch for free at one of the participating sites from 11:30 a.m. until noon. They must eat inside—the lunches aren’t being packed. The sites are Barrow Elementary, Clarke Middle, Gaines Elementary, Hilsman Middle, Howard B. Stroud Elementary and Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary. Adult lunches cost $3.75. This program ends on June 30.
