gusto!, yet another “bowls of stuff that feels vaguely healthy and are very customizable” franchise restaurant, will open this Saturday, Apr. 23 in its new building that stands on the spot of the former Inoko on Alps Road. The big patio is pet-friendly and has heaters, cornhole and a putting green. There’s also a drive-thru, which will be serving up free food on Saturday from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Each car in line by 1 p.m. can snag two meals plus a fountain beverage for each. The restaurant isn’t properly open for business until the following Thursday, Apr. 28, and 10% of sales that day benefit the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.

The second Athens-area location of Newk’s—there’s one open already out on Epps Bridge, in Oconee County—is officially open on Baxter Street, in the remodeled strip that will also house Slutty Vegan and Surcheros later this year.

Moe’s in the Alps Shopping Center, if not already noted, is closed.

The West Broad Farmers Market returns to an in-person market this week, on Saturday, Apr. 23 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at 300 S. Rocksprings St. The weekly drive-thru market will continue with the addition of a monthly in-person market moving forward.

The Watkinsville location of Butcher & Vine is only doing private and pop-up events now. The Athens location, in Five Points, is still doing happy hour, dinner and Sunday brunch.

Everything Is Cool (EIC for short) Espresso, a cute pop-up, is back in business, slinging coffee from roasters across the country at Creature Comforts 8 a.m.–1 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Sunday. The menu is appropriately tiny, but you might find a few Independent Baking Co. pastries alongside cortados, Cubanos and espressos.
