The Athens branch of the Flying Biscuit, which started as one smallish restaurant in Atlanta’s Candler Park and now extends all over the place as a franchise, is officially open, running various specials all week on Prince Avenue in the new Prince Park development across from the hospital. The Barberitos in the same building is still a work in progress.

Creature Comforts is hosting a drive-through plant sale for Troublesome Creek Farm this Thursday through Saturday, mostly edible stuff like Carolina black peanuts, sorrel, fancy watermelons and the like.

Apr. 1, in compensation for being a general annoyance, is also National Burrito Day, so Barberitos is offering $6 chicken burritos.

Butter Bites catering is open on Cherokee Road, in the building with Wok Star, doing pick-up meals for lunch or dinner. Check Facebook for offerings.

A craft distillery looks to be coming to Macon Highway, near River Club. In other words: fancy liquor.

home.made is taking a little time off, closing for April to return in May. If you haven’t seen the GoFundMe for its chef, Homero Elizalde, who has had some recent medical problems, go check it out.

The Expat is also closed for a little bit but reopening soon, and Rashe’s is on spring break until Apr. 14.

The guys who own Buddha Bar and a bunch of other college bars (Sandbar, Double Barrel, etc.) are making progress on Paloma Park, in the former Uncle Ernie’s/Max downtown, which is an actual, honest-to-goodness restaurant focusing on small plates.
