The fancy mixed-use building at 1540 South Lumpkin St. is adding a location of franchise Bitty and Beau’s Coffee, opening next year. Known for employing primarily people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the franchise is based in Wilmington, NC, and named for the founders’ two youngest children, who both have Down syndrome. Other locations are in Charleston, Savannah and Annapolis.
The brick-and-mortar location of Rashe’s Cuisine is closed until Jan. 13, and the farm-to-neighborhood market is closed until Jan. 14. When the former reopens, it’ll have expanded hours: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Heirloom Cafe is doing holiday cookie boxes for order online. Boxes are $35 and include: butter cookies with royal icing, chocolate peppermint crinkle cookies, maple pecan meltaways, sweet potato snickerdoodles, gingerbread chocolate sandwich cookies, jam thumbprint cookies, espresso chocolate sables, oatmeal cranberry cream pies and cardamom shortbread. All profits benefit culinary scholarships for women to Les Dames d’Escoffier. Pickup is on Dec. 18. While you’re on their site, you can check out Christmas and New Year’s Eve meal kits.
Five and Ten is also doing Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day meal kits for takeout. The former need to be ordered in advance by Dec. 21. The latter can’t be ordered until the day of.
