Athens’s Got Talent is an event created to celebrate local talents and raise money for The Cottage Sexual Assault Center & Children’s Advocacy Center, which provides free services for survivors in the community. Participants will perform a variety of music, dance and comedy acts, competing for Audience Choice Award, which is decided based on who receives the most $1 donation votes, and Judges’ Choice Award. Among the featured performers are a group of forensic interviewers who have formed a band called the Forensic Five, a five-person hip-hop dance group from DanceFX, electronic looping artist Libbaloops, coaches from Fit Body Bootcamp doing a comedy skit and several more talented acts. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to spread out on the lawn.
