Calendar Pick: The Modern Pin-Ups

The Modern Pin-Ups

The Modern Pin-Ups are celebrating their 15th year in operation with a special dance performance entitled “Crystal.” The local dance group was founded in 2010 by Grace Bagwell Adams to give women of all levels of dance experience a place to learn more about the craft and perform. Adams is also the founding director of the dance groups Normaltown Tap Company and Speakeasy, and she contributes to community projects like Project Safe’s Dancing with the Athens Stars. Ever since The Modern Pin-Ups’ inception it has promoted diversity and empowerment amongst its members, and it now operates out of its home base at The Studio Athens. The Modern Pin-Ups perform pieces in a variety of genres, including burlesque style jazz, musical theatre, hip hop and tap.
