Calendar Pick: Classic City American Music Festival

Alongside celebrating Independence Day, Aubrey Entertainment’s Classic City American Music Festival celebrates the best of American music, from bluegrass to roots to soul. The first performance of the day will be from MrJordanMrTonks, the rootsy collaborative project of Tommy Jordan and William Tonks, at 2:15 p.m. Next is five-piece bluegrass band The Welfare Liners performing classics and originals at 3:15 p.m, then more bluegrass from BorderHop Trio at 4:15 p.m. and Packway Handle Trio at 5:15 p.m. Norma Rae will bring their soulful Southern Americana to the stage at 6:30 p.m. The show will close with progressive bluegrass group Grassland, on at 7:50 p.m. In the true American spirit, the festival will also have a selection of beers and barbecue to enjoy along with the music.
