Frank Hurricane is perpetually inspired by the spiritual energy of Appalachia. The former Athenian’s music is full of both mystical and down-to-earth imagery combined with psychedelic folk stylings. Frank Hurricane’s songs give listeners the impression of traveling through the mountainous South beside him as he shares stories along the way. In an interview with It’s Psychedelic Baby! Magazine, he explains the strong interconnectedness he finds between music and storytelling, saying, “The music is a holy tool that I’m blessed with to help tell the stories.” The show, which is presented by Attaboy Tapes, will be opened by Lebo Jenkins, who plays Appalachian music, old-time tunes and American primitive compositions on banjo and scordatura guitar, and local group Infinite Favors.
