Town & Gown Players will open their newest production, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, on Aug. 12. A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder was released in 2013, and it received critical acclaim. The play begins with a warning to the audience that the following content may be disturbing, although the caution is delivered in character and quite tongue-in-cheek. Quite metal, nonetheless. The play follows a middle-class Englishman, Monty Navarro, and his desperate attempt to squeeze into the nobility after learning he is the “son of  the daughter of the grandson of the nephew of the second Earl of Highhurst.” That silly Englishman! I sure am glad America is devoid of that sort of ridiculous generational wealth… However, I digress. See this play! Support the arts! The performances are held Aug. 12–13 and Aug. 18–20 at 8 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinees on Aug. 14 and Aug. 21.
