After a detour into debauched garage-rock and a stint leading the jammy supergroup Hard Working Americans—where he played alongside Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools and others—singer-songwriter Todd Snider returned to the acoustic folk of his roots on last year’s Cash Cabin Sessions, Vol. 3. The record, which was recorded at Tennessee’s iconic Cash Cabin Studio and features contributions from Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, is a stripped-down affair that finds Snider dealing with the aftermath of an opioid addiction in typically plainspoken style. Country troubadour Chicago Farmer opens Wednesday’s show.
