In addition to colorful illustration and felt work, local artist Elinor Saragoussi has been branching out into building playful set designs that utilize painted masonite. The outdoor GlassCube at Hotel Indigo is the perfect space to host one of her immersive environments, full of anthropomorphic creatures like a blue gorilla, flying purple elephant and hissing rattlesnake among tropical plants and glowing pairs of eyes. Using a QR code, visitors can listen to an accompanying soundscape called “Jungle Drone” by Saragoussi’s Baby Tony and the Teenies bandmate Max Boyd. The installation will remain viewable 24 hours a day through April.
