Local artist Nancy Everett’s latest collection of paintings, “A Classic Spring,” was inspired by the beauty of a blooming Classic City. After receiving her BFA at UGA, she spent 35 years away before returning to live in Athens four years ago. Whether created in her space at the Mercury A.I.R. Studios at the Chase Park warehouses or outdoors during plein air painting sessions, her work seeks to immortalize observations from the world around her. Painted in a contemporary impressionist style, her pieces focus heavily on color and range from bouquets of flowers to track trains to a dairy cow spotted from the road. Everett’s works will remain on view through Apr. 29.
