The poetry series kicks off with Athens writers Soham Patel and Jenny Sadre-Orafal. Patel, an assistant editor at Fence and The Georgia Review, has a PhD in creative writing from the University of Wisconsin. Sadre-Orafai is an English professor at Kennesaw State and executive director of the Georgia Writers Association. Hosted by UGA professor Melisa Cahnmann-Taylor, the series will continue on July 18 with Sabrina Orah Mark and Lemuel “Life” LaRoche; July 25 with Sharon Nuruddin and Georgia poet laureate Dave Bottoms; and July 26 with Cahnmann-Taylor, Josina Guess, Charlee Cain and student poets.
