Sleepy Brown, Kilo Ali

Best known as one third of Organized Noize—the Atlanta-based production group known for penning chart-topping hits for TLC, OutKast, Ludacris, Nappy Roots and others—Sleepy Brown is also a highly capable solo artist, as heard on 2006’s funky, fabulous Mr. Brown LP. Following the release last year of The Art of Organized Noize, a Netflix documentary that chronicles Atlanta’s rise to hip-hop prominence in the 1990s and beyond, Brown hits the 40 Watt Club Thursday alongside fellow ATLien Kilo Ali. North Carolina soul man Al Chauncy and locals Bahdum Boys support, with appearances from other special guests throughout the evening.
