Athens Jazz Festival

Co-presented by WUGA and JazzAthensGA, the free, outdoor Athens Jazz Festival returns Sunday with a full, family-friendly lineup of local artists designed to showcase the strength and variety of Athens’ thriving jazz scene. Sunday’s performers include traditionalists Period 6, Latin-inspired drummer Louis Romanos, smoky combo Trio Deluxe, bop ensemble Tiny Jazz Arkestra, smooth dudes John Dunn and Jazzman and more. As a bonus, this year there are associated shows all weekend leading up to the festival. Friday at The Globe, you can catch the Laura Coyle and Trey Wright Duo, and Saturday’s show at Hendershot’s features the Whitehall Jazz Band.
