After catching the attention of listeners, including Burger Records’ Sean Bohrman, with an early batch of solo demos, teenage Los Angeles singer-songwriter Clementine Creevy fleshed out her Cherry Glazerr project with the addition of a drummer and a bassist—roles currently filled by Tabor Allen and Sasami Ashworth, respectively. Like Speedy Ortiz, the band draws from 1990s grunge and noise-pop to concoct a fierce but sunny garage-rock sound. Creevy’s inviting vocal melodies and sharp lyrics drive Cherry Glazerr’s compelling recent LP, Apocalipstick. Fellow Angeleno Samira Winter opens Friday’s Caledonia show with her dreamy alt-rock project, the aptly named Winter.
