Street Eaters

Some bands go on tour, and some bands stay on tour. Bay Area punk duo Street Eaters are a member of the latter camp, having practically lived on the road since the release of the fuzzed-out Blood::Muscles::Bones album in 2014. After returning home in the wake of the election and deadly Ghost Ship fire last fall, the group hit the studio to process the chaos it had witnessed. The band’s new record, The Envoy—out Friday via Nervous Intent—is a doomy dive into the world of novelist Ursula K. Le Guin, exploring the author’s “themes of oppression, resistance and change,” according to a press release. Street Eaters are back in the van through this summer, and they hit Athens Monday.
