“Out There! Photographs in the Spirit of Jeremy Ayers” celebrates the life of the songwriter, playwright and staple of the Athens art scene through an exhibition featuring over a dozen photographers who share his keen eye for capturing the uncanniness and surreality of life. To close out the exhibition, ATHICA will screen Jim Herbert’s short film “Carnival,” a rare gem circa 1983 that depicts some of the only existing footage of Ayers’ musical project Limbo District. The evening also includes a panel discussion on current issues in photography. The final opportunity to view “Out There!” will be during a show of local bands and Brooklyn act Frank Hurricane held the following night from 5–11 p.m.
