Camp Amped Finale

For the first session of Camp Amped’s summer 2015 series, young local musicians teamed up to learn the music of their hometown. Under the guidance of a truly impressive faculty group that included members of Drive-By Truckers, Elf Power, Kuroma, The Goons and Powerkompany, campers mastered songs by Athens groups like Neutral Milk Hotel, The Glands, The B-52s, Pylon, Monsoon and more. Their newly formed bands will perform these tunes at Saturday’s finale show Saturday at Nuçi’s Space. If you need a reminder of why you dig music—and Athens music, in particular—here’s a chance to fall in love all over again.
