Pour Restaurant & Bar, an offshoot of an Atlanta business by the same name, opened for business early last week at 22 N. Main Street, in the Dolvin building across the street from the courthouse annex in downtown Watkinsville. Renovations have been in the works for a while to transform the space.
The Atlanta location of the restaurant, in Brookhaven, serves small plates, charcuterie, flatbreads, salads and a few entrees, most of which draw on comfort food classics or pair well with a wine, a major point of emphasis. The Watkinsville one has a similar menu and will do catering and lunch, as well as dinner and cocktails.
Also opening last week, on the other end of downtown Watkinsville, was Suncatcher Café, next to Jack’s Food Mart and near the Krimson Kafe, on Greensboro Highway. Open for breakfast 5–11 a.m. Monday through Saturday, it does sit-down meals of biscuits (gravy, bacon, sausage, smoke link, steak, ham tenderloin, regular or spicy chicken, bologna and tomato), pancakes, eggs, French toast, grits and the like. It also offers free (nonalcoholic!) drinks for EMS workers, fire fighters, police officers and military folks.
