Bone Island Grillhouse, which has its original location in Eatonton, at Lake Oconee, opened its Athens restaurant on Monday.

The surf-and-turf eatery is in the still-new Epps Bridge Centre, near Freddy’s and Cheddar’s, and does dinner six nights a week (closed Sunday) for the moment. Lunch will be added in the future.

The menu includes fried seafood, classic sides (hush puppies, coleslaw, cheese grits, some green things like green beans and broccoli), B.I.G. Bowls (seafood over grits, with pasta or with rice), grilled proteins (fish, seafood, chicken, pork, steak), entree-size salads, sandwiches and an array of appetizers, including beer-battered mushrooms, sausage dip, blackened ahi tuna bites and fries with cheese, bacon and scallions.

Beer, wine, pitchers of margaritas and a bunch of big, fruity specialty cocktails are also available.
