Journey Juice Rises from the Dead

If you were at the last Saturday Athens Farmers Market, you might have noticed a familiar stand there. Journey Juice, operating at AFM and out of a retail location at Prince and Satula, shut its doors earlier this year, but it’s about to open them back up.

Owner Nabil Abouharb says the Prince location will reopen next Monday, June 15, with weekday hours from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and weekend ones from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Abouharb explains:

One of Journey Juice’s most fervent and vocal customers (she purchased an ungodly amount of Just Greens), Amy Lawrence—a public school teacher of 15 years—sat down with us and proposed to save the company. Amy put in her notice and has effectively become a cold-pressed fruit and veggie juicer… combatting poor nutrition with easy, local and delicious juice solutions. She and her husband have effectively purchased the company and now are operating it.

Abouharb remains involved with the company, but less actively than before, due to other irons in the fire.
