Eddie’s Calzones, which took the place of Al’s Beef downtown (265 E. Clayton), is now open, very quietly, but plans to get louder by giving away free calzones on Thursday from 4–7 p.m. Regular hours are 11 a.m.–4 a.m., and it offers delivery. Eddie’s has what seems to be a personal page on Facebook rather than the more standard business page, which does allow it to let you know that it “Studied Awesomeness at University of Georgia.” (Update: They have a business page, too.) Here’s the menu for the Columbia, SC location.

Joey’s Dine-In and Take-Out, which has only the one location, in the former Huddle House on Danielsville Road, next to Team Biscuits & Burgers, is also open, with a big banner reading “Welcome. Now Open” covering up the window paint that says “Coming Soon.” Joey’s promises burgers, chicken strips, banana pudding, pork chops, Phillies, hot dogs and a lot of stuff served “Joe Style” (more details on what that means eventually). It’s open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday and serves until midnight Friday through Sunday.

To complete the trifecta, Bill’s Bar-B-Que, on Fortson Store Road in Hull, is back open for business under new (but related ownership). Yes, chicken mull and hash are both on the menu, and word is that the parking lot has been jam-packed every day. It’s open 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
