After some months vacant, the little space next to Jimbo’s convenience store on Baxter that once was Ronnie B’s and since then has been a succession of barbecue joints is once again serving up pig. Porkhouse BBQ opened there this week and has its Facebook and Twitter accounts up, but not its website or phone (yet). (UPDATE: The restaurant does have a phone number: 770-365-9092.)
The menu includes six different sandwiches—the Southern (pulled pork), the Carolina (pork + slaw), the Texan (beef brisket), the Bama (pulled chicken), the Arcade (smoked chicken salad) and the Memphis (rib)—as well as all of those as plates, potato salad, baked beans, corn nuggets, fried okra, fries, pickles and chips. There are passwords that will get you discounts and students get a buck off the “daily deal” combos.
