Well, dang it. Local Table (reviewed here), which was doing such a nice job in downtown Watkinsville, is closed, due to issues with its flooring that were not covered by insurance and were too expensive for the restaurant to fix. Kiki’s Bakeshop next door, also owned by Kirsten Bradford, remains open.

Einstein Bros. Bagels, in the former Little Bull on Broad, is open, doing bagels, breakfast sandwiches and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Seabear has added a late-night oyster happy hour (in addition to its 3–6 p.m. regular one) from 10 p.m.–midnight, with $1.50 oysters and drink specials.

There are a whole heck of a lot of Valentine’s Day specials going on around town, but Heirloom Café‘s may be the most brilliant, with a Feb. 13 dinner that includes babysitting by Arrow. You get a glass of bubbly, three courses (plus optional wine pairings), four hours of childcare at Arrow (so you can go see a movie or take a nap or whatever) and an optional kids’ meal from Heirloom. Details are at the Facebook event.

Beef O’Brady’s is running its third annual wing-eating contest during Superbowl half-time. The victor gets a year’s worth of free wings.
