Food roundup below:

Although the news isn’t yet reflected on its Facebook page, Skogie’s on Baxter has closed. The seafood shack, the original location of which is on Lake Lanier, opened two years ago in the strip that also houses Domino’s Pizza.

Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe, in the Bottleworks, is hiring, which suggests its projection of a May opening date was fairly accurate.

Junkyard Dawgs, on Commerce Road, is temporarily closed due to some water-treatment upgrades, but its second location, The Bunkhouse, should be opening soon (no official date) in the building formerly home to The Woods at the J & J Flea Market.

The bar menu that was briefly on offer at 5 & 10 has dematerialized but, according to one bartender, may be coming back after some tinkering.

Opa Robby’s is officially open in its Eastside location, in A Weekend A’Fair, Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday from noon–5 p.m., with “produce, jams, jellies, pickles, pecans, hoop cheese, peanuts and plants. Sandra, at the Antique store, has farm fresh eggs for sale.”

Shane’s Rib Shack is giving out free ribs on May 17, when the first 100 folks through the door will get half a rack of ribs, a drink and a T-shirt.

Barberito’s has added composting in its downtown location, switched to recyclable plastic cups from foam ones and plans to become a “0 percent waste restaurant” by July.
