So, Thom Leonard’s Independent Baking Co. (now with more Facebook!) is still not really open, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a baguette.
In a soft open that I may have described as “peddling his crack rock to get people hooked on it,” the bakery (at 1625 S. Lumpkin St., in Five Points) has been opening for a few hours in the afternoon with $2 baguettes that are heavenly. I ate one in the space of a few hours, almost entirely by myself.
The real live opening is next week, with the official date not yet set. #HurryUpwithMyDamnCroissants
