It’s not like things have been busy lately, what with Fat Tuesday, Valentine’s Day and the Oscars all happening within about a week and a half of one another, but this time of year always means A Taste of Athens. Come out to the Classic Center this Saturday to support Community Connection in its biggest fundraiser.
The 10K is celebrating its third year in existence and starts at 8 a.m. Saturday in downtown Athens, heading down Boulevard, Prince and other scenic locales over the course of its mileage. It’s also a Peachtree qualifier. Registration is $35 (you get a t-shirt as well as a sense of pride) and can still be completed.
The big party is ringing in 20 years and takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. General admission tickets are $50 ahead of time and $60 on the day of. VIP tickets (early access at 4:30 p.m. before the crowds get heavy, access to the VIP garden, free wine glass and plate) are $80/$90. If you want to do both the race and put back on the calories you burned, it’s $80. Groups also get you discounts, so talk to your buddies.
