After some reportorial activities, I’ve figured out what’s coming to the old Cactus Café space in the Bell’s Shopping Center at 2061 Hog Mountain Rd. in Watkinsville. Turns out, Athens’ own Tlaloc El Mexicano, recently highlighted in Hugh Acheson’s GQ Guide to Athens and longtime purveyor of perhaps the most delicious torta in town, is opening a second location. Watkinsville, your mouths are about to be very happy. Word is the opening will be soonish, and interior renovations have been proceeding swiftly.
