Wednesday, May 18 was a packed out night at the 40 Watt Club courtesy of Nashville psych rockers All Them Witches and The Swell Fellas.

On Friday May 20, Paloma Park hosted the Echo Bass Strikes Back Benefit with sets by Caulfield, Trvy and BYV_Trubb, Ishues, and Frank the Eagle and Cassie Chantel. The benefit was organized to support Mike Dyer of Echobass Records (aka Cabbage Looper) who lost his home and studio in a fire. Donations can still be made via Venmo (@Michael-Dyer-121) and GoFundMe.

Over at Ciné, we caught Weaponized Flesh and Wyld Staleyz.

This same night, Kadillak played its second-to-last show at the 40 Watt. According to a recent Instagram post, singer Kadi Bortle will be moving to Nashville this summer. Catch the band one final time at AthFest in June.

On Saturday, May 21, JOKERJOKERtv hosted an all-day DIY affair called Flop Fest with Bleach Garden, Hyper Olympic, Rosie & The Ratdogs, Collateral (FL), The Buzzards of Fuzz and Color Blind Dinosaur (FL).

Later that night, The Wydelles played at the 40 Watt in celebration of Ben Spraker’s (Normaltown Sound Machine, The Shut-Ups) 50th birthday. Happy birthday, Ben!

Next door at Flicker Theatre & Bar, Richard Gumby performed.
