The National Rifle Association has state Rep. Doug McKillip in its crosshairs.

The NRA has endorsed McKillip’s opponent in the Republican primary, Regina Quick. It gave her a grade of AQ, meaning she is a pro-gun candidate based on questionnaire answers but doesn’t have a voting record. McKillip says his C+ grade is based on his entire six-year career, including his time as a Democrat, not the two years since he switched parties.

The NRA also endorsed state Sen. Frank Ginn, R-Danielsville, over his primary opponent, Barrow County Commission Chairman Danny Yearwood.

Former state Rep. Doug Collins, R-Gainesville, won the NRA’s endorsement in an Athens-area congressional race with an A rating, although opponents Martha Zoller and Roger Fitzpatrick received AQs. In another local congressional race, U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, R-Athens, got the NRA’s nod over challenger Stephen Simpson.
