Today’s Office Jam! Jens Lekman: “The World Moves On”

Welcome to Today’s Office Jam!, a feature where we share a tune the Flagpole office is currently diggin’ on. Today’s jam comes via assistant office manager Sydney Slotkin.

Office Jam: I didn’t think “The World Moves On” was the best song on Jens Lekman’s new album at first listen, but it’s the only one I’m still singing. He starts by talking about how hot it is, meanders mundanely through his birthday, a hookup and a sunrise, before actually getting into his breakup. He ends each verse with a shimmying flute solo and a slow-moving punch in the gut: “You don’t get over a broken heart, you just learn to carry it gracefully.”

Office Objections?: Nope! We’re all twee-ing the eff out to this jaunty jam. Caffeine consumption is down and productivity just increased 30%.
