Calendar Pick: Athens VHS Fest

The ideal meeting point for analog and physical media enthusiasts is Athens VHS Fest, back for its fourth year and presented by vhs.or.die. Twenty vendors will be selling items to help attendees beef up their collections from 1–5 p.m. at Creature Comforts, alongside live, synth-heavy musical performances from Corporal Quigg, Libbaloops, Jaguardini and Organically Programmed. There will also be a VHChess board made of black and white VHS tapes and sleeved VHS tapes fashioned into chess pieces, presented by Andrew Austin. After the market, there will be a screening of Hellbound, a 1970s-style witchcraft horror film shot on 16 mm, at Ciné starting at 5 p.m., followed by a Q&A with director Ben Winston.
