Calendar Pick: Guacamole Yesterdays Screening and Q&A

Ahead of its release on all major digital platforms, the sci-fi romantic dramedy Guacamole Yesterdays will have a screening at Ciné this weekend, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. The plot of the film is described as following “a grieving woman who, after a painful separation, turns to cutting-edge technology that lets her relive and reshape her memories in a quest for healing.” Themes of heartbreak, healing and memory lead the audience to exploring the power of redefining your story while experiencing trauma. Guacamole Yesterdays was shot in Atlanta with several Georgia-based filmmakers, and it includes actors Randy Havens (“Stranger Things”), Sophie Edwards (This World Alone) and Adetinpo Thomas (The Color Purple). “I’d love for audiences to walk away questioning whether our lives are defined by our past circumstances and trauma or whether we have the power to take the reins and redefine our own stories,” said screenwriter and producer Hudson Phillips in a press release.
