Calendar Pick: Summer Series Opening Reception

Yanira Vissepo

As spring turns to summer, Lyndon House Arts Center is celebrating the opening of six new exhibitions that will be on display through the season. The featured artists/exhibitions include Barbara Mann with “Forging Connections: Metal Art Inspired by the Marine Carbon Cycle,” Yanira Vissepó with “Water Meadows,” “Pendulum” by Jean Gray Mohs, “Controlled Burn” by Tom Schramm, “Peach Fuzz” by Victoria Dugger, and Lindsey Kennedy and Josh Skinner’s collaborative exhibition “Thaw Line.” The works explore a variety of mediums and topics, from the examination of waste and industrial products in Schramm’s work to metal recreations of the biological processes that support life and the natural world in Mann’s work. To accompany their exhibitions, Vissepó will hold a demonstration on dyeing shibori fabrics with indigo on June 7, and Barbara Mann will hold an artist talk and demonstration on June 26.
