I’m guessing that few people thought of the Athens-Clarke County Water Business Office when they were musing about what to be thankful for last weekend, but I was. About a month ago, we got a note on our door alerting us that our meter showed unusual water use and warning us that we might have a leak. A week or so later, we got a call from a very nice man at the water office repeating that message. We called a plumber, who ascertained that did indeed have a leaking toilet. He gave us a form to send into the water office, which documented the leak and repair. That form will apparently result in a refund of half our excess bill. How cool is that? Thank you, lovely water office people.
