An Athens-Banner Herald Twitter account—at least briefly—was offering Confederate flags for sale.
@ABHMarketplace, which appears to be an advertising account, tweeted out an offer on Sunday for 3-feet-by-5-feet Confederate flags with free shipping. The tweet had been deleted Monday morning, but it remained on the OnlineAthens homepage. (A screenshot is to the left.) The link has also been deleted.
Many retailers—including Walmart, Sears, eBay, Target, Amazon and Etsy—stopped selling Confederate flags after white supremacist Dylann Roof massacred nine African American churchgoers in Charleston, SC, in June. Several flag manufacturers have also stopped making them.
