Herschel Walker, former Heisman-winning UGA running back, one-time MMA fighter and current purveyor of mediocre bar food, has endorsed U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston for Senate.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is backing Kingston, released a sports-metaphor-heavy TV ad Tuesday in which Walker declares, “I’m on his team, and I hope you will be, too.”
Kingston also has the support of Barbara Dooley, Coach Vince Dooley’s wife and a Republican congressional candidate herself in 2002.
Kingston, a Savannah Republican, is opposed by businessman David Perdue in the July 22 runoff for the GOP nomination. The winner will face Democrat Michelle Nunn in November.
