Downtown Development

Atlanta-based Selig Enterprises, which recently released scaled-back, Walmart-free plans for a mixed-used development at the former Armstrong & Dobbs property on Oconee Street, has set up a website with details about those plans.

The site includes elevations, renderings and an FAQ that explains why a grocery store won’t be part of the project, among other things. The site also says that the company has no plans to hold public meetings, although there will be opportunities for public comment when Selig seeks a variance from planners and the Athens-Clarke Commission.

Yeah, it’s propaganda, but worth a look nonetheless. Pick up a copy of Flagpole or check our website on Wednesday for an in-depth story about the new plans.
