Flagpole Premieres: Molly Tu Hott, “Play” Video

Hip-hop artist, author and entrepreneur Molly Tu Hott has just released a new music video for the standalone single “Play” ahead of its official digital release on Tuesday, Apr. 18 on all streaming platforms. Known primarily as a rapper, this single is Molly’s bold, all-in entrance into the R&B genre.

“It’s by far the hardest thing I’ve done in my rap career. I can sing any R&B song, but actually to sit down and write out my feelings on paper and not feel weak or vulnerable is hard for me. I was raised in the hood and always did my rap based on my childhood, lifestyle and hustle,” says Molly. “I can hip-hop freestyle at any given time, but feelings of love and hurt is a different ball game.”

Molly elaborates that writing as a rapper is a natural and smooth process where she can visualize the words as they come together. For her, writing R&B feels more like “writing blind with a purpose” with the sensation to hide. However, Molly isn’t afraid to bare all in the sensual and “play”ful music video shot by Brasher Media.

“I wanted the video for ‘Play’ to be fun. It was my first video shoot in my sexy mode so it was intense. My favorite part of the shoot was being in my bed, which was comfortable for me and everything else came naturally,” says Molly.

Although this is a standalone single, Molly Tu Hott is currently working on the project PS to Love Vol. 1. Under her label Money Bring Everything (MBE) are several projects that have been in the works to be released soon. With more music video shoots on the way and projects to be released, you can watch for updates on Instagram and YouTube.
