James Husband, Peter Alvanos, Steven Trimmer

The alias of James Huggins III, a man known for many hours clocked with of Montreal, Elf Power and various other Elephant 6 projects (not to mention his recent work with the weirdly brilliant Athens Cowboy Choir), James Husband’s solo output has been limited since 2009’s A Parallax I. Word is he’s working on a new full-length, though, and Friday’s show seems as perfect a chance as any to catch up. Rounding out the excellent triple bill are Peter Alvanos—also of Elf Power, in addition to his Fabulous Bird project—and the younger but equally talented Steven Trimmer, whose own output sports a heavy E6 influence. With his Glasscrafts project, Trimmer’s songs balance fuzzy psychedelia with crisp, jangly pop. Sound familiar?
