In this class, students will forge a throwing tomahawk with a forge-welded high carbon cutting bit. Skills attendees can expect to learn include: tapering/drawing out, bending, drifting, forge welding, heat treatment, hardening and tempering, cutting with a chisel, basic forging, manipulating the cross-section of a bar, fire management when working in the coal forge and fitting the tomahawk to a handle. This class will also discuss parts of the anvil, blacksmith tools, and design elements as they apply to the blacksmith.
