Sludge metal icon Crowbar is set to take the stage at the 40 Watt in support of its most recent album, Zero and Below, a brutal trip wrought with riffage. It’s Crowbar’s 12th full-length album, and a long awaited one from fans. The COVID pandemic put Zero and Below’s release on hold for the better part of two years. Although the album was finished in February of 2020, frontman Kirk Windstein saw little reason to alter the album in that time, instead preparing for its eventual release and what would become its supporting tour in the summer of 2022. Austin-based doom metal band Spirit Adrift and local death metal group Guillotine A.D. will open.
