Athens Wine Weekend kicks off Friday from 6–9 p.m. with Amuse-Bouche, or “A Little Surprise,” featuring bites prepared by regional chefs alongside wine pairings. The Grand Tasting, held Saturday from 1–4 p.m., offers samples of hundreds of wines from all across the world, as well as a handful of seminars with sommeliers, and is followed by a six-course Portuguese dinner from 6–9 p.m. For those still standing, Sunday’s Sparkling Wine Brunch at 11:30 a.m. will feature a breakfast buffet and specialty mimosas. Event proceeds benefit the Classic Center Cultural Foundation, which supports performing, visual and culinary arts programs and provides scholarships to students pursuing the arts.
