Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, The Vegabonds

It’s a Nelson family affair in Athens this week, as a Friday rooftop show by Willie’s granddaughter, Raelyn, will be followed up a few days later by an appearance from her uncle and the country icon’s son, Lukas. With his band Promise of the Real, Nelson freely blends rock, country, soul, pop and folk, as heard on “Bad Case,” the recently released first single from the group’s upcoming album, Turn Off the News (Build a Garden), out June 14. Nelson and Promise of the Real boast close ties to another legendary figure in American music, as they have regularly backed Neil Young on tour and on record since 2015. The Vegabonds open Monday’s show.
