A steady presence on the local concert calendar for the past two years, the Best of Unknown Athens singer-songwriter showcase at The Foundry features intimate, in-the-round performances from area musicians, along with a discussion about the songwriting process, the last Wednesday of each month. The November installment—moved to Tuesday to accommodate Mike Cooley’s appearance at the venue the following night—features Sarah Zúñiga, Dana Downs, Drew Albenesius, Andrew Huang and Erin Lovett. All were finalists for the Classic City Rotary Club’s inaugural Vic Chesnutt Songwriter of the Year Award, which was given in May.
