Unknown Hinson, Joe Fletcher

He’s best known by the younger generation for voicing the irascible molluscan patriarch on Adult Swim’s surreal “Squidbillies” series, but North Carolina-born musician Stuart Daniel “Danny” Baker continues to perform as his outlandish Unknown Hinson stage creation. A combination vampire/redneck/rabblerouser, the black-clad, mutton-chopped Hinson is known for ridiculous, transgressive underground hits like “I Ain’t Afraid of Your Husband,” “Put Out Or Get Out” and “Black and Blue Christmas.” After a brief break from the touring grind, Hinson returned to the road in 2013 and has remained active since. How he will follow up his Athens gig on Halloween of that year is anyone’s guess.
