A growing town that recycles and reloads a healthy portion of its population with great frequency deserves the benefit of a public service reminder, every now and again. The more you know.
Pssst… There is a women’s flat track roller derby team in Athens, Georgia.
The Mark Richt saga continues to develop: Just three days after he was fired as Georgia's head football coach, the AJC reports that Richt has accepted the same position at the University of Miami. Richt was a quarterback at Miami from 1979–82.
After another disappointing season, Mark Richt is resigning as the Bulldogs’ head coach, the university announced today.

Last weekend marked the kickoff of UGA's football season and the first real test for Athens-Clarke County's new underage consumption law, which grants officers the discretion to simply cite an offender or take them to jail like the good old days.
