If you're not registered to vote already, today is the last day to do so and be eligible to vote in the Nov. 4 election, when races for governor, Senate and Congress will be on the ballot, in addition to other statewide offices.
It's an especially critical day for Democrats. State Sen. Jason Carter, who's challenging Gov. Nathan Deal, believes he needs to bring 200,000 previously unregistered voters to the polls in order to win. That's a tall order, especially since Republicans are fighting voter registration efforts.
